Season -
New-leaf.
The weather is turning light and breezy, but the wind and rain won't pass easily, nor without a fight. Anticipation is thick in the air, making the fur of the Clan cats prickle with worry. What could be brewing in the forest?

Rainpaw tilted her head. The she-cat didn't need long to think; she was pretty confident in her answers. Swiping her tongue around her maw, she meowed, "It would depend on who you are. If you were a member of TreeClan, I'd respond with a nice attitude. If a rogue, I'd chase them off. If another clan cat...I'd ask why they were here unless they were attacking. Oh, and a kittypet I'd most likely show them the way back home." She meowed, eyes sparkling. She was sure these were pretty good answers to the question asked of her.

Skyheart crinkled her eyes and purred in delight. Rainpaw was very bright and quick. Her quick thinking and confident answer illustrated just how well trained she was. She was glad to stumble upon two very competent apprentices. It warmed her heart to see apprentices who were proud of their progress and determined to succeed. They would be the future treeclan warriors and she couldnt ask for anyone more ready to serve and protect. Seeing them so willing to learn, made her feel a little bit guilty inside for not taking her own training as seriously. While Skyheart was just as loyal and competent, she lacked the ambition and drive to become the best she could be. Because she had no aspirations to become deputy or leader, Skyheart spent her time doing the mundane duties expected of her and then relaxing whenever there wasnt anything to accomplish. The white she-cat supposed that life is short and she should reap all the possibilities, but maybe it was the lack of parental figures in her life since she left the nursery, or maybe it was because of her lazy mentor. Whatever the reason, Skyheart lacked motivation. However, witnessing the apprentices show off their abilties made her heart swell with pride. It didnt matter that she wasnt their mentor or mother, Skyheart felt inspired. "Good answer. Please tell your mentor for me that he or she is doing a great job training you."

OOc: Okay, great! ^^ Oh, and don't worry about the terms. 'tis all good. So, who do you want to mentor? The only one off limits is Rowanpaw. He's med. cat apprentice.
Bic: Rainpaw's purr became more louder as she felt another wave of satisfaction pass through her frame. The apprentice couldn't be happier now; Skyheart was making her feel quite pleased with her limited training. Suddenly remembering her rank, the she-cat dipped her head low, her whiskers twitching. "Thanks again Skyheart. Also, I would tell my mentor but....I haven't been assigned one since my last mentor...disappeared. Fernstar's been distracted, I suppose, but bigger clan issues." She meowed, an expression of grief passing over her features. Oh, how she missed Fallingtail! But he had mysteriously disappeared around dawn one morning when he went out to hunt. No trace had been found of him, nor any sign that he had ever been around the Split Oak, where he said he would be. Rainpaw didn't want to believe that he left the clan, but she had few choices.

Runningstream walked casually towards the few cats. She spotted a couple apprentices and sat down a couple feet from Roainpaw, so that she could get a good view of what was going on. She noticed Skyheart, a fellow warrior, and dipped her head respectfully. There was also Rowanpaw, another innocent soul. Tree Clan was full of cats, and their forest proved to be quite plentiful, so all was well. Tail wrapped around her paws, the she-cat watched the scene with ears pricked. Ah, an apprentice without a mentor! What a sad sight. For now she would just see, almost sure that Skyheart would take on the apprentice as her own.

Skyheart frowned at hearing she didnt have a mentor but hid it quickly, impressed even more that she had learned what she knew on her own. Not many apprentices would bother putting in the extra effort without their mentor. To see her pushing forward in spite of the lack of guidance meant how driven Rainpaw was. Skyheart's eyes sparkled, even more proud of Rainpaw. "Really? Because I wouldnt mind being your part-time mentor, or even full time if Fernstar allows me."

&&rowanpaw Rowanpaw watched the scene with interest, he had a mentor of course. It was Oakleaf. He wondered if he would do any training today. Probably now, he had come out before he had gotten too bored, he didn't know where Oakleaf was. He was probably okay for now then wasn't he? Skyheart and Rainpaw were talking about mentors still, but Rowanpaw noticed Runningstream.

Rainpaw's eyes widened slightly as she let a purr of delight escape into the wind. She hadn't expected this at all. It was really nice for Skyheart to offer as well! As the apprentice shifted her weight, she dipped her head in a hasty greeting to Runningstream before turning to look back at Skyheart. Still purring with delight she managed to meow, "I'd love that Skyheart! I'm sure she'll let you!"

Runningstream watched the two apprentices silently for a moment, but shifted her gaze every now and then so that her stare didn't bore a hole in them. Now she would stand up and walk over to sit by Rowanpaw, and talk to him a bit. Rowanpaw was the Medicine Cat apprentice, and her certainly deserved the position. She spoke to him, still staring on at the Rainpaw, but her attention was still focused on Rowanpaw. "How is your life as a medicine cat?" Runningstream had always thought of the life of a medicine cat as magnificent and fanciful. Myth and magic shrouding everything. It was hard, even for the loyal warrior, to believe that StarClan was not some supernatural force ruling over the clan cats.

&&rowanpaw Rowanpaw stared at Runningstream for a few seconds before shrugging and mumuring, "Okay,". It was all he really had to say about it. He didn't have the exiting life of a normal apprentice, but he also liked the peace and quiet that it gave him. Also he was able to help his clanmates and that made him feel that he was doing his job right.

A calico she-cat glided gracefully through the terrotory of TreeClan, glancing around ehr at all the beautiful things. New-leaf was her favorite time of year, everythign came to life again and she enjoyed it when food was plentiful for her Clan once more. Blossomcherry's green eyes danced as she smelled some of her Clanmates up ahead, and quickening her pace, she soon reached them. She had just arrived as Rainpaw and Skyheart were discussing Skyheart becoming a mentor for the young apprentice. She smiled.
"Well good-afternoon everyone!" she purred, stepping withen view of the other cats. She nodded to Rowanpaw then turned to Skyheart and Rainpaw. "I couldn't help but overhear the conversation you were having about wanting to become Rainpaw's mentor, Skyheart. I think that would be a splendid idea, and if your serious I'll talk to Fernstar about it." she said promptly.

Rainpaw turned her head as the newly-appointed deputy approached. The she-cat couldn't help but admire Blossomcherry's friendly attitude and ability to remain calm in any situation. It was good that she had been given the chance to prove herself as deputy. I think Fernstar chose well. The calico thought, dipping her head. Hearing her deputy's statement, the she-cat's eyes widened, a new blaze within them. "Really? Do you mean it? That would be so amazing Blossomcherry!" She meowed, standing up now. She couldn't help but be excited. Ever since her mentor disappeared, she had received little training. Now was the chance to show everyone what she could really do.

The she-cat made her way quietly and slowly through TreeClan's territory. She sighed and sat down in a very small clearing, with tree's that were lined with soft moss. She inhaled the scent happily. She loved the smell of Newleaf. It was a breezy day and the trees were beginning to pop with lovely bright greens. There were a few traces of clouds in the air, but the fact that they had rain in them? She didn't know. If it rained, she would be unhappy. She had just groomed her pelt and it was neat and in order, something that didn't happen all that often, although she was very much in love with herself, despite her sweet temper. She meant to be very quiet so no one would know she was there, but the wind was blowing and she was almost sure someone would catch her scent. She sighed contentedly. At least she would have a few moments of peace.
"When the waters of disaster meet the forest floor, five unlikely must step up, before the clans are no more."
"This is the chilling prophecy that five medicine cats receive on an oddly cold night in New-leaf when five cats give birth to new litters. Along with these words comes an image: Five shadowy figures standing on a hill in the pelting rain with several cats below them. Eventually, the words are put out of mind.
Now zoom forward a few moons. It's the middle of new-leaf, and several kits have been Apprenticed. Rainpaw of TreeClan, Streampaw of DesertClan, Riverpaw of RapidClan, Ripplepaw of SwampClan, and Wetpaw of SparkClan. These apprentices do not know each other, and carry separate personalities. Strangely, they have one thing in common. They keep seeing these images in dreams. Their territories under water, cats running from a large wave of water, etc. They tell no one, but they also keep hearing the words of the long-forgotten prophecy when they least expect it.
Another image that comes to mind is a large lake that only a few recognize. Then comes the unending rain. Will the apprentices realize their destiny? Will they come together, despite Clan boundaries, to save the Clans'? Only time will tell."
